What Rim Specialist Alliance Groups are contenders to pull off reverse takeovers of other minnows and have at least the potential to become even vaguely relevant in Nagidos?

ATM the only thing that is coming from my rim is a brown alien object..Yeah someone is coming into 54 soon from the rim
Aargghh - that is just too much informationATM the only thing that is coming from my rim is a brown alien object..
The Varangian Guard seems like the best rim alliance followed by Mad Dogs and Berzerker Brigade. Their are several other ones also.

Would having started late and set up a group that eventually won a Conquest World ( Rebadged for WW part ) once before improve the odds ?All depends on which major alliance decides to build wonders, and what other major alliance decides to screw with their building, rim alliances are irrelevant before that really. They have some half decent players but they are highly disorganized and uncoordinated if they were they would be in core, or close to it. In this world if any rim alliances rise they would be south west due to a somewhat lack in talent in their perspective core ocean, maaybe south east but i doubt it. Though if one thing remains true in grepo it's that anything can happen at any time, a major alliance decides to mass ghost or leadership leaves, leaving the alliance uncoordinated and weakened in power, etc etc. If a rim alliance seizes that opportunity and is coordinated enough they can easily become a major power.
Example, Black Ships, and Sharks on golgi, at the moment i don't see a real contender for that in nagidos, but the world is still quite young for the rim, and anything can happen in the future.
As i said anything can happen in grep, but for a rim alliance to win a world must mean the alliances in core were weak, had lackluster leadership, or inexperienced at ww's, for the most part its incredibly hard for any rim alliance to win a world, as the core brings sooo many advantages.
Yup, he seems to be quite the capable leaderMad Dogs are good people, I personally like Erik the Hungry a lot, great guy
Although I have played it mostly on U.S world, I have seen rim alliances win a lot of the time (my first world which was en, I joined the rim alliance that nearly won that world from ocean 52. I was in ocean 32 when I spawned and joined an alliance which later merged into said rim alliance.) Usually what would happen would be their were so many strong core alliances that barely any core alliances controlled an entire ocean, this would lead to an alliance forming on the rim and the rim becoming stronger than the core because alliances on the rim controlled more oceans and weren't as stagnant do to easier targets leading to quick growth. What would happen is one rim alliance would conquer about 5 oceans worth by the time world wonders rolled around and while the core alliances albeit smaller could still whoop the rim alliance's butt in some cases, the rim alliance would just destroy with resources during world wonders and win. I see this happening in Kasmenai right now with several rim alliances outmatching the core alliances pound for pound. In one of my world's a premade that could have probably kicked the butt out of the core alliances if they had spawned in the core spawned on the rim in ocean 67 and won the world. Probably the only time an alliance spawned into a world on an ocean that far away and win the world. On another world an alliance spawned in 53 and won that world. But these are all U.S world's so the dynamics are different. One thing that affects this though, and probably the most important factor is how fast the rim spawns in. If their people spawning in 67 within the first month of a world opening up then chances are a rim alliance can win. because their is very little time difference between the rim and core.I've played grepo for 6 years now on and off, and I've seen it happen only once
Yes this worked, like 3 4 years ago, when the player base was much bigger, servers were much more populated back then. This was then, now a server is lucky to break 5k its opening week, and 80% of that 5k are gold traders, facebook accounts and noobs from ads etc. etc., You land with a premade today on rim you would be so far behind core alliances its crazy, less city density, less competition, less bp. And the game changed in a way that there is no big war before at least one alliance involved in the conflict controls an ocean. Grepo is a dying game unfortunately but this is a whole other discussion haha.I will say the easiest way to win this game by far is to spawn into two rim oceans located next to each other with a premade that has not just good players but hardcore golders that even good players are overwhelmed easily, for example 46/56, 64/65, 35/34, 43/53 and dominate from then on, but so many factor shave to happen to make this condition right to win a world.
Yeah, I just joined Mad Dogs due to proximity and they seem like I good outfit, but I must say I dont really see any major rim plays in the foreseeable future
