Attacking defending spells

Could someone please let me know the process for using spells such as heroic power (10% stronger attack land troops) I'm not really sure how and where I can apply these types of spells. Do you send the attack and then get the option to cast spells?

You launch your attack like by clicking on the city you want to attack

Then click on the outgoing attack's picture:

You will see an option in the top right corner for spells, click that:

Pick the spell you want to cast, and if you have favor it will do so:

Incidentally, that's how you cast spells on incoming attacks as well. I marked them with blue arrows in the last image.
