facts such as your taste is dubstep is better than everybody else's? can you see how this relates to aicy's post?People like me? I just stated simple facts, if you can't handle them then well i don't really care
just because pink doesn't sound like the beatles, that doesn't mean that it's not pop. same goes for dubstep, just coz it doesn't sound like old coki or skream or whatever, doesn't mean it's not dubstep. fi you don't think it sounds as good as old-school dubstep then that's fine, and plenty of people would agree with you, but it doesn't mean that other people have the wrong opinion!Would be the same if someone asked Techno recommendations and people sum up hardcore artists for example...
Monstercat is nothing like that, like, at all. First of all only about 20% of what they upload is dubstep, and then the vast majority of that is liquid dubstep. I hate most dirty dubstep tbh.Dubstep used to be about "implosion" and not about making the hardest drops or include the most transformer sounds in one tune lol.
I did(or did you mean why i refused them?)
I don't suppose you listen to darkstep then?
I did
Ofcourse they do it for the money, they have 6 people working on that channel full-time, and most of the featured artists live off of the money they make from their music. It's not a blatant monyegrab though, it's simply unfair to suggest it is. They release an album almost every month with 20 tracks for only 10 bucks. That's a steal! 012 even had 30 tracks for the same price. Compared to their competition they're probably the cheapest out there. They are not only a channel on youtube, they're a label. They give underground artists a chance to get out there and even make music their actual profession.Well as you probably guessed, i don't share their taste in music so i didn't feel the need to become affiliated with them. I kinda think they're more in it for the money than actually for the music. I did everything for free on my channel. But i do agree that if i could have made a living out of my channel i would have done that, but not at the expense of the quality of music i uploaded. Hope this answers your question
Doubt that cos a gaga remix wouldn't be monetizable without licensing fees I think Not sure what you mean with quality btw, it's fine if you don't like the stuff they put out but it's definitely not crappy quality, not anymore at least (the production value of the stuff they put out has increased massively since their first upload)I know it's your opinion vs mine but i just don't think Monstercat does a great job about quality control on their channel as well as on their releases. If i remix lady gaga i'm sure i'll get a spot on the channel lol
UKF is a channel, Monstercat is a channel AND a label. That is probably the difference.Btw i find it hard to believe they have 6 people working full-time on the channel when for example UKF is ran by one guy full-time.
Not even sure what it is exactly (fudging subgenres ) but my guess is that there isn't any deep dubstep submitted to them that's actually good enough to make it on the channel, or there may not be enough demand for it.I never see any deep dubstep on their channel, why would that be?
what in the world is catstep... lolAnyone else listening to CatStep?
So what's this then? https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/ukf-bass-culture-2/id553727951 They have released quite a few compilations..UKF is a channel, Monstercat is a channel AND a label. That is probably the difference.
So yah like you're saying, Deep Dubstep may not have the same demand as Skrillex copy cats etc. That proves they only care about the money which was the complete opposite of what my channel's purpose was.Not even sure what it is exactly (fudging subgenres ) but my guess is that there isn't any deep dubstep submitted to them that's actually good enough to make it on the channel, or there may not be enough demand for it.what in the world is catstep... lol
That's just an album with some of the songs put on UKF. I know for a fact UKF is or has never been the label of knife party and I am convinced they're not the only ones. Monstercat is the actual record label of the stuff they release (as in they are in the label field on beatport for example)So what's this then? https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/ukf-bass-culture-2/id553727951 They have released quite a few compilations..
Apart from that noisestorm track I like them all, and I don't think they're copycats of anything. Just listen to 2:44 from that pegboard nerds link, dat melody! <33So yah like you're saying, Deep Dubstep may not have the same demand as Skrillex copy cats etc. That proves they only care about the money which was the complete opposite of what my channel's purpose was.

I mean c'mon, people have no inspiration anymore and just copy those artists who make the most money and monstercats helps a lot in that process. Btw, just my opinion again
Ugh, trap, I hate itBut this will all go away soon since most of these listeners and producers will jump on the next bandwagon like Trap music for example.
Never said those artists on that compilation were signed exclusively to UKF tho. But a recordlabel releases EP's, LP's and compilations. And that's what UKF does, well the compilations. I don't like UKF tho, but besides the channel, the podcasts, the compilations, the mixes, the 3 other channels and one of the most important things, the concerts/nights they organize over the world i think it's much more than just a channel lol. That's just an album with some of the songs put on UKF. Well there must be something wrong with my ears then, because as with tracks from Skrillex & Knife Party the only thing i'm hearing are growls and high pitched noises over and over again lolApart from that noisestorm track I like them all, and I don't think they're copycats of anything.
