Given that we have a good forum community here in Ephesus, I've decided to ponder about what music you all like.

Music has a massive effect on everyday life, maybe without people really realising it. But everybody has those specific songs which really gives them chills (in a good way of course).

So this topic is for you guys to post:

What specific genre of music you prefer (If any.)
What your favourite artist/band is.
What your favourite song is at this time and why.
What lyrics really stick out to you from any track (this could be simply because they're powerful or because you can relate to them.)

(Disclaimer: I realise this has no relation to the game, but I thought it might be somewhat of a good idea anyway. Feel free to have it removed if you feel it necessary.)

What your favourite song is at this time and why. Catgroove because it's awesome and makes me want to dance and sing and rejoice every time I hear it.
What lyrics really stick out to you from any track (this could be simply because they're powerful or because you can relate to them.) Most of the songs I listen too don't have a singer.

What specific genre of music you prefer (If any.) - Sort of a classic rock-blues kinda thing. That and punk rock.
What your favourite artist/band is.- The black keys
What your favourite song is at this time and why.- Gold on the ceiling, by the black keys, because I've always wanted to put gold on my ceiling?

We were just hanging on the corner, after skating for a few
We were just killin time lookin for something new
Then someone came 'long with a guitar, and we just started to play
And we sang Clash songs and the songs of our lives until late into
the night

Reminds me of me and all my dumb friends who used to hang out around town skating and singing songs by the clash. hahaha

What your favourite song is at this time and why. hmm it varies depending on my mood but nightmare by avenged sevenfold, assassin by 30 secs, and citadel by write this down

I'm British, just to answer that question.


What specific genre of music you prefer: Rock and Metal mostly

What your favourite artist/band is: I have a mixture, but it would have to be Avenged Sevenfold, with Bullet for my Valentine and Serj Tankian being close seconds.

What your favourite song is at this time and why: This is a tough one, but I'd have to say 'Yes, it's Genocide' by Serj Tankian. Even though it's sung in Armenian (his native language), you can feel the emotion put into the track. If anybody knows about the Armenian Genocide then hopefully you'll understand the emotions he is portraying.

What lyrics really stick out to you from any track: For this there is simply one line from one song that has stuck with me, and will stick with me for the rest of my life without a doubt. The very last line in Serj Tankian's 'Honking Antelope';
~Wouldn't it be great to heal the world, with only a song?~

tl;dr - Serj Tankian is a musical genius, both with SoaD and without. I just prefer Avenged Sevenfold due to their guitar harmonies and vocal melodies.

What lyrics really stick out to you from any track (this could be simply because they're powerful or because you can relate to them.) The only lyrics that stick out to me are those in How to Save a Life. They are sad and also make me happy at the same time.

How does one choose from among the stars in the night's sky? I guess I'll try. :p

What specific genre of music you prefer (If any.): Varies with mood. Mostly classical, Celtic, anything with a piano

What your favourite artist/band is: Toss up between Enya/Billy Joel/Elton John

What your favourite song is at this time and why: Lament by Mychael and Jeff Danna the from the Legend of Deirdre album. It fits my mood of late.

What lyrics really stick out to you from any track: In green fields now unknown, your name upon the standing stone. Love invites one last call, when death from life begins to fall.
