Just a disclaimer I normally like funny PnP's but this is more just an informative one about what's going on.
So there I was in an unknown alliance called Fury about three weeks back. Things were going alright when suddenly our leader Medic began freaking out. He claimed that the Redwood Orginals we're coming for us!
We all made ready for war!...Until Maccat popped a message and explained he was coming for Bloody Monkey's not Fury. This caused us to believe that Medic was lying in order to take the eye off other issues at the time as the messages between the two seemed like Maccat was genuine we also shared a lot of goals. So he won my trust and thus we left Fury for the impression listed before. And thus Point and Shoot was formed and immediately pacted so that we could join the war in the core!
When we approached our new partners to begin business we quickly found out that Maccat had some problems of his own. Apparently he had issues with Dark Trilogy (then Platoon) and Truculence. After some words were said by them about both alliances and the possibility of a fight. Something note worthy did pop up though. Maccat seemed to be paranoid at all times.
However I offered my advice that day to fit their needs. All seemed well until I got an odd message from Conqueror II about the Deadly Phalanx. After sharing what I knew he left a rather vague and ominous message.
Because you know that's not sketchy or anything aye boys? Not like people are going to question that kind of stuff. Especially when you refuse to even remotely elaborate. It did make me realize something though. We hadn't discussed any kind of planning with RO since we pacted and I felt it was time to do that. Sadly they didn't respond well at all. Especially when we told them we could hold down O-66 so they could go focus on other threats like Truculence who they were ranting about and fearing. They didn't respond well to this either claiming that we were hostile for talking about this. In fact Maccat tried to LEAVE in the conversation despite us voicing our concerns. Becoming frustrated and realizing that Mac wasn't open to advice or hearing any possible concerns only increased hostility. Far be it from your allies to take a fight off your hands when the enemy isn't even in the top 12. Or ask a question about something that made us feel somewhat uncomfortable.
Despite the tension rising Maccat still reassured me that RO would keep its pact and honor its word. Then I got two messages form their players among a few others about the possibility for a fight. And of course a few of them about not wanting to attack us.
Their own diplomat:
Nice to meet you Likasil perhaps you should come prepared for the job though.
Well if that doesn't escalate things a bit then what will right? Of course Maccat assured me that this was an accident and it was only the possibility of war that prompted this. He also assured us that he would never break the pact first. But the question remains if you claimed that you weren't going to break the pact anyways why are you speaking of war to the public of your alliance? Seems more like a private thing especially if you really planned on not being the ones to start a war.
The sketchyness didn't stop there. We got another message from their brilliant diplomat Likasil. About kicking one of their own players because he used to be with us. None of us had cared prior to this but now that she made an offer it was worth discussing.
We explained to her that we would need to talk about it and she agreed to wait. Great finally something we can get done and everyone can honor and be happy about!
Or you know...Yank the offer after we spent some time discussing it. Not like that speaks volumes about yourselves or anything. After some more discussion I explained that the player wasn't the issue but once again they failed to communicate with us. Which gave us the impression that they didn't want to work with us. It also suggests that they'll back out of a prior commitment for personal gain which I don't believe in. Finally its bad business to throw an offer on the table and try to back out of it because we gave you an answer that frankly you obviously didn't want. If you don't want to follow up an offer don't make it. Otherwise you look like our good friends in RO here kids.
The Redwood's Team Picture:
When talking to Maccat he said we were always hostile towards RO...The most we had done until this point is ask to be included in planning which they declined multiple times. In addition we asked them to leave O-66 and go focus on their main targets. Which they didn't respond well to either. As tensions escalated we got one more promise that Maccat and the Redwoods wouldn't be the team to break the pact. Then this showed up.
Intelligence isn't a prized thing over there at RO is it huh? Despite this he kept trying with 1k spies on multiple players.
So I contacted Maccat again and asked if he was declaring war. He said no he would not break pact like a broken record and then said he was leaving and this would have to wait until morning. Because ya know a whole war is looming and some of your guys are spying so you decide now's a good time to put it off or not do anything about it. That was the last we heard from our friend Maccat.
So today I came back from class and boy to my surprise! RO had tried increasing its 1k spies and sent an attack while still pacted hoping to surprise attack us...
Smooth move guys so lets get this straight. You claim that you would honor a pact and work with us. You couldn't do that clearly. So you claim that you would never be the ones to break pact. Guess that was half right we technically were still pacted when we started fighting. Well I guess you made you're choice and its our job to give you the fight you're looking for....Lets see if we still got it.
